REFLECTION 2

Peer pressure is to be influence by a group of people or person to encourage you or others of changing some attitudes, values, or behaviors, as well as, taking some actions, while it could influence you in both positive and negative ways.

Many people affected to be peer pressure by others because they want to be liked from others, as well as, they want to belonging to a group and they want to try things they have it done before or try it before. In addition, it’s not easy to say no to peer pressure.

I believe that almost everyone has affected by peer pressure at some point in his/her whole life positively or negatively. Me as well affected and influence by peer pressure.

When I enter the college I felt that I was alone because all my close friends went to another university. And I am that type of person who doesn’t know how to make new friends, so I was afraid that I will be alone, not belonging to any group and not be liked by other students. Because I was new student to the college and I had a less experience than the students around me, which that makes me do what most of the college students dose from many sides such as: fashion, my choice of who are my friends and my academic performance. So, I can belong to a specific group because I am wearing the same style of clothes, or choosing similar major, or be friend with a popular student and wait until she telling me what to do, so I go with what she think in order to include me in their group. And I have tried what I mention above, so I got a hug number for people around me and many other people that I don’t know they, but they know me. And this way of peer pressure is a negative way because I was copying what other students do and dot it by myself.

People can deal and manage peer pressure by many simple things such as: saying no in order it get stick with what you are believe in, Hang out with people who like what you like, so you can avoid being in pressure because they want you to try or doing something you don't like, have your own opinion, be attention to your own thoughts and take some action against people who want to affect you in a negative peer pressure (2).
