South Korea says time for tough action after North's nuclear test

As many of us know that there a certain problems between North and South Korea, which is until now and it developed to very sensitive level, which made the South Korea President Park Geun-Hye says they should take a tough action towards North Korea after the nuclear test. The story began when North Korea want to do a nuclear test, but this time the test has cause some trouble and damage in South Korea. And North Korea justify themselves by saying "last week's test was of a miniaturised hydrogen bomb – a claim largely dismissed by experts who argue the yield was far too low for a full-fledged thermonuclear device." In addition the South Korean President described the event as unacceptable challenge to the global peace and security. So, South Korean President urged the international community, and in particular China, to ensure that North Korea receives the strongest possible punishment for its latest nuclear test. After the US lawmakers voted overwhelmingly to impose stricter economic sanctions on North Korea the South Korea President announced that South Korea is working with the United Nations to adopt the strongest resolution to penalise North Korea. As well as, the South Korea President urged also China to take a tougher line with North Korea, becuase China is North Korea's main ally and economic benefactor. In addition, South Korea has respond to North Korea by broadcasting a high-decibel mix of K-pop and anti-North messages. And Park defended the broadcasts as it was an “effective psychological measure”, as well as, they are trying their best to inform North Koreans about “the truth” of their regime (the Guardian, 2016).

I can link this story to course concept that I have studied, where this story has two of the course concepts and they are: globalization and functions of the press. I link it to political globalization, which is refers to an increasing trend toward multilateralism, an emerging 'transnational state apparatus,' and the emergence of national and international non-governmental organizations that act as watchdogs over governments and have increased their activities and influence. As it is described the emerging transnational state apparatus between North and South Korea. In addition, it linked to functions of the press and it focuses on the Surveillance Beware, that the role media play in presenting danger news. And according to the story when North Korea tested the nuclear they cause some danger and trouble to South Korea.
